Activities

So this week consisted of quite a few activities. Zach and I went mini golfing on Wednesday where he shot 1 under adult par and I shot 2 over children's haha um yeah not my best game. Then on Thursday we decided to go to the driving range which was both hilarious and fun. I missed the ball on several occasions and the ball didn't end up going terribly far but it was still fun.

Then Friday Zach and I cooked dinner and made dessert for his family. For dinner we made some chicken enchiladas and then for dessert we made some chocolate chewy oatmeal bars. It was fun cooking together and everything turned out pretty great.

And today I decided that I would join my buddy Caity and her husband and their friend on a hike... now I don't particularly like hikes but I thought well I will get to hang out with my best friend little did I know we were in for a 6.5 mile hike!

Even though it was a really long hike I did have a lot of fun. We hiked to these caves called the bat caves and went exploring in them. At one point Caity started to get a little freaked out and took us through this really tight area which ended up being pretty comical to see the two guys go through the tiny space. The picture below shows the log we shimmied down with the rope into the bat cave it was actually a pretty big drop!

Overall I had a lot of fun, even if I did complain on the way up and end up being so tired and sore it was worth it.

movies movies movies

This last weekend I went and saw two movies the A-Team with my siblings and boyfriend and Toy Story 3 for Father's Day. The A-Team was so funny!! I don't remember the last time I laughed so much through a movie. The things that the "a-team" did too just left you saying "woah! cool!" I really enjoyed it . Another thing, we purposefully went to the 4:20 showing to catch the cheaper matinee pricing but at the Woodinville theater apparently matinee pricing ends at 3:55!!! So dumb.

Now for Father's Day we saw Toy Story 3. It was amazing!! I absolutely loved it! It was just as good as the other two if not better. I actually teared up a little as embarrassing as that is but it was really good!

Next week I will be seeing the new twilight movie, Eclipse... duh! Love that series and I am currently rereading the 600 page novel to have a refresher of everything that happened. I'm pretty sure I can finish it, I read like 150 pages today and today was day one.

Banana Bread

We had three really old bananas that were going to get tossed so my mom suggested making banana bread. I took her suggestion and again found a recipe online at http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/The-Best-Banana-Bread/Detail.aspx. The recipe was simple and we already had all the ingredients. I took a few of the reviewers suggestions though and changed the 1 cup of white sugar to 1/2 cup white sugar and 1/2 brown sugar, reduced the 2 cups of flour to 1 1/2 cups, added 1/2 cup pecans, add 1/2 tsp vanilla, and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and it came out great! I was so surprised how easy it was to make too. I think I will try some other breads soon.

shoes or play toy?

Tonight after work my boyfriend's mom took me to get a pedicure with her :) It was pretty fun we chatted while they painted our toes but the funniest thing had to be these shoes that they gave us...

They are probably 3 pieces of paper thick, if that and are actually hard to walk in too because the front flips under and anyway they were just really comical. Although they might not be the best shoes that did not matter to my puppy Marley. He absolutely loved chewing on them haha, at least they did their job and kept my toes from getting smudged and a great chew toy for the puppy.

Cookies

Tonight I decided to bake some cookies and I found this brownie oat cookie recipe that was supposed to be healthy and only 50 calories. Mine ended up having about 63 calories however
because I didn't measure the dough out really well and ended up with 24 instead of 30, even still they are pretty low calorie. I found the recipe at http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Brownie-Oat-Cookies/Detail.aspx

The dough doesn't look too great but the cookies tasted pretty good. I think mine look different then the picture because I used hot chocolate mix instead of unsweetened cocoa powder because we didn't have any, at least that's what I want to think haha.
Theirs...

Mine...
