One Week to Go

So with one week to go this is what I have remaining:
1/2 of a Physics lab report
a 2500 word paper
a 3000 word paper
an 8 page paper
a biology lab practical
a biology final
a physics final
a psychology of personality final
a Bible final
a physics assignment

wow looking at this makes me really stressed haha. God's strength is great though and I will accomplish all of this and be home in one week from today. I cannot wait!!!

Now for Thanksgiving break! it was really great! Zach and I went to Santa Cruz where my grandparents live and my dad drove down from Washington :) I will put up some pictures of that tomorrow probably but to be honest I didn't take very many because I knew my dad would be taking plenty. But it was a really good time and I was so happy to see my family! only 15 more days till I go home! Can't wait!

Lately

Yes, I know, I still need to post pictures!! Someday when my professors are not assigning me papers every day I will get to it. I have 2 due Friday so trying to get those done! I came down with a nasty cold this week and am also trying to take care of that as well as my homework. Things on the agenda this weekend though...

Crunch Time

I apologize for not posting Halloween pictures yet, yes I realize it has been over a week but I have had so much homework and unfortunately it just continues! I have a total of 10 more papers to do this semester with 5 weeks to go ... now is it just me or do teachers just wait till the 2nd half of the semester to give you all the projects and such? because up until now I have written maybe 4 or 5 papers.

Anyway when I finally get a spare moment i will load those papers. What's on the agenda this week? Biology paper, Psych of personality paper(s), and a physics exam. But this weekend is my friend Mandy's birthday on Friday and we are going to cheesecake factory and then my roommate and friend Sarah J's birthday on Saturday and we are going to universal studios city walk for dinner :) Should be a fun weekend... that is if I make it there! haha

Later that night we were up at 3 am to be at the rock and roll marathon in Pasadena... was it worth it?

Well there was jump roping while we waited for the participants and....

We saw Jenifer Love Hewit!!! and if you look in the back ground to the right, that guy is James Marsden! That was a bit more exciting haha. If you don't know him he is in X-Men, Enchanted, Hairspray, 27 Dresses, The Box, and many others.

All to say that is was a great weekend! This weekend we did some trick or treating... who said I am too old to to that anyway? haha I will post some of those photos later! And thus begins another hectic week... but on the plus side 54 days till Christmas :)

fall festivities

The weather surprisingly has been cloudy/rainy all week!! we had a pretty dry weekend but still a lot of clouds and cold. Anyway, this weekend turned out to be pretty fun and busy! Friday we didn't have practice (yay!) but instead we went as a team to watch the cross country team run and support them and afterwards had a BBQ in the parking lot.

Saturday consisted of homework till 1 or so then we got ready and went to a pumpkin patch around 3 and spent the rest of the day there and carving pumpkins! :) I haven't had a chance yet to upload those photos so those will come later this week. Also I was up at 3:15 am this morning to go with the track team to help at the rock n' roll 1/2 marathon in pasadena and didn't get back till 9 am! We did get to see a few celebrities though! I will save that for when I have the pictures up too.

Baby Monkey

This weekend was nice, I watched the Killers with Zach on Saturday and it was so good! Really a cute movie. Sunday was homework and I went a track team pool party with my friends Alyssa (aka queso) and Mandy from track. Well the pool party turned more into a indoor party because it was raining the entire time and like 65 degrees! It was actually kind of nice to have the rain :) Cameron, a freshman this year on the team, hosted us at his family's house. They had the best food! Complete with big screen to watch some football, and a game room to goof around in. It was really nice of his family to feed all of us that showed up and let us in their home, it is so nice when we actually get to go to a house and be around a family especially those of us whose families are far away. 

Afterwards I had dinner with my roommates and 2 other girls on the track team who live in the same court as us at our resident advisor's apartment. We had some yummy enchiladas, beans, and chips salsa and guacamole and a whole lot of laughs. Our R.A. Sarah is pretty cool. 

So I don't have pictures of anything sadly but I do have a video to share! It's been raining on and off since Sunday but it's kind of nice :) I had a great practice today too! and a bunch of us are carving pumpkins and watching Halloween movies on Saturday so I have something to look forward to :)

Good Times

Nothing super exciting this week, we did have a "study" day on Wednesday which meant no classes but besides that pretty average week. Well as average as it gets living with my 4 roommates who drive me crazy at time but most times we are just crazy together. Our apartment is rarely quiet when the 5 of us our home together because we are usually laughing at everything. I wouldn't have it any other way though. Even though sometimes someone forgets to do their dishes, or close the shower curtain, or put away the straightener after they borrow it. I love living with these girls because they are my best friends and when I come home after a full day of school, work and track they are there to encourage me and remind me to laugh and enjoy life. 

Unfortunately I do not have a picture of all 5 of us! :( sad! But this weekend we are taking some roommate pictures... I guess there is no time to take pictures when you are having fun!

10/10/10

So this weekend turned out to be a very busy one but a good one. My friend Alyssa and I made the best birthday card ever for our friend John for his birthday and this is what it looked like...

Haha yeah ... not going to lie, it was a pretty good card! And we did bake him another cake , not just the one we ate.

In other weekend news, Zach and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary on Sunday, 10/10/10

we went to outback steak house for a nice dinner together :)

Then we went back to john and zach's where alyssa, tiffany, and I had a surprise party planned since it was his birthday that day too.

Here is the video! He walks in and the place is decorated but Zach and the other two roommates and myself are just sitting on the couch playing super smash bros so he doesn't think much of it until everyone popped out!

His face is the best! he was so surprised :) a job well done!

So as promised here is one of the videos. This was on our way to Yosemite and these three in the back were just too funny. They did this dane every time california girls came on ! haha. On our way back to Azusa we had a lot of fun amongst the different vans. It started with the all boy van driving by us with butt cheeks pressed to the glass and of course our guys in the back of the van had to get them back so we caught up to them and returned the gesture. Well after all that fun was done with and the giggles ceased we communicated with the boy van to drive up with our van and get along both sides of the other APU van ahead of us. And so we sped off to catch the next track van ahead of us who then proceeded to get moonage at the same time on both sides! After speeding off eventually the van caught up to ours and the other van that mooned them and got their revenge. From then on it was a huge dance party in all the vans and non stop laughter. It was so hilarious and a really fun ride back to the 95 degree weather that awaited us

It's about time!

Sorry for the long delay in posts... it took a long time to get settled in haha. But hopefully this will be a more regular thing from now on. I was thinking I would just give a few highlights of my first month back at school to fill you in

TRACK

Track has been in full swing since day 1! 6 practices a week and 3 weight training practices in addition to that each week. Although I am a junior this year I am getting a lot of firsts in APU track this year because Freshmen year I didn't join till Oct. and last year I was in South Africa. One of those was our team trip to Yosemite Valley which consisted of a 5 hour drive aka bonding time!

Two more days

Well, sadly, in two more days I will be flying back down to Azusa for school. It's not that I don't like it down there because actually I really love it but I don't like change much. When it's time to go home for the summer I don't want to, but when it's time to go back to school for the year I don't want to go either haha. It seems I have so much to do before I leave still... well actually there really isn't that much but I do have to pack and I loathe packing! I usually leave it for the night before and pack into the wee hours of the morning but I'd really like to break that pattern this time around. So my goal?? start today! two days before leaving! haha I guess it's improvement even if it's only a day

Now it is off to my last day of work, a whole 3 hours! wow! the kids are in school now so it is a short day for me.

Fun fun fun!

Well it has been quite a while since my last post. I blame it partially on Zach borrowing my computer charger, partially on me being busy, and just on me for not doing it haha. Let's see I will start with a few weeks ago my grandparents and cousin Josh from Montana visited for a few days which was really fun! We went up to birch bay and went crabbing where I got to see all my little baby cousins :) Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of when they were here :(

I also did a triathlon with my dad on the 21st, the same day my grandparents and Josh went back home. It was such a cool experience! I am really proud because in March or so I told my dad that I wanted to do a triathlon this summer and he said we'd do it together and we did! Not only that but thank you Jesus for healing my ankle! I didn't think that after breaking my ankle and tearing every ligament possible in it in April that only a short 3 months and 1 week later I would complete my first triathlon! As for the triathlon itself, it was freezing when we arrived to the site at 6 in the morning, but I had a nice surprise when I was preparing for the swim and looked up to see Zach! I was so happy that he came! The swim was awful! 400 meters is so far swimming! The bike ride wasn't bad and surprisingly during the run at the end dad and I had enough energy to carry on a somewhat conversation haha. Next summer we plan on doing more! :)

Following the triathlon was a week full of camping! Tuesday with my dad and Wednesday-Sunday with my mom and the rest of the family plus uncle mark and his family in Idaho! It was really fun! On the way we had a tire blow out though....

This caused us to make another stop to buy tires which we had a total of 7 stops! Ridiculous! One day we went to the Silverwood theme park where we got the best ice cream ever! I took a picture but you can't see it very well....

Here is my Aunt Dawn getting ONE scoop!! At least at this shop! It was really like 5!

We all had our fun at the theme park, and at the not so sunny beach, and on our adventure to find an antique store in the middle of no where that turned out to be really just nothing. I'm so glad I got to spend time with my family and some extended family as well!

Last but not least here are some photos of a little gift I made Zach. It's one of those no sew fleece blankets. I picked the sharks because 1 he loves sharks! and 2 because it was the only thing I thought I had a chance at him liking, the store I went to didn't have a ton of selection. I rolled it up and tied it with scraps to kind of wrap it, he loved it ! :)

Vacation

So yesterday was my last day at work for 2 weeks! Then I will go back for one more week and then leave for school. On the one hand it kind of stinks because that's less pay but on the other I have a ton of time to wrap things up before going back to school. My "vacation" came at a good time too because my grandparents and cousin arrive today to spend the week with us, my dad's birthday is tomorrow, my family and I are going to a family reunion crabbing thing (would be so much better if I actually liked crab haha oh well) on Thursday and next week we are leaving Wednesday to go to Silverwood Theme park in Idaho with family for 4 days.

This pair of shoes was awaiting me Sunday on my bed when I got home. My sister had seen them at her work (Famous Footwear) and bought them for me, how sweet! At first I wasn't sure about them but then I put them on and they are so cute on! It was such a nice surprise at the end of the day. Then yesterday my sister, mom, and I had a "girls day" which consisted of olive garden, shopping, and Jamba Juice. My mom stocked up on her soaps at the annual hand soap event at Bath and Body Works. I love having those soaps in the bathrooms and kitchen! And I convinced her to buy one that was my particular favorite...

I mean how cute is that! A Halloween hand soap! and the pumpkin glows in the dark too bad I will be at school and not able to really enjoy using it but maybe I will just go buy one for our apartment.

Eat.Pray.Love....Eat Some More!!!

So today I saw the movie Eat.Pray.Love with my nana, papa, and dad. So maybe the title doesn't have eat some more but hey why not! Well I kind of have mixed feelings about the movie. I felt that is was way longer than it needed to be (almost 2 1/2 hours) and I couldn't really decide how I felt about the main character Liz. On the one hand I felt she was a silly girl who ran around the world trying to fix her problems when she could have stayed home and done that...it's called life! BUT on the other hand it is the perfect girl movie. A girl who isn't sure about where she is who takes off to see the world, make new friends, and rediscover herself seems so enticing. So maybe not the movie you go to see at the theater but rent with your girlfriends and watch on a girls night.

Zach and I watched Shutter Island last night and I also had mixed feelings about this one. Overall it's a good movie but not what I expected. First I pictured scary, then after talking to others who had seen it thriller, but after watching it myself I would say mystery. I think the expectations I had prior to watching it made more of a letdown. Zach and I decided it was a good but not great movie and not exactly what we were expecting.

Camping

So to be completely honest, I don't think I will be continuing with the 30 articles of clothing for 30 days... I honestly don't have a lot of variety to my wardrobe and taking pictures each day is just not working out for me haha.

However I will post pictures of camping! My high school friends and I went camping this last weekend for our 3rd annual summer camping trip! We went to Sun Lakes State Park and it was beautiful!

So many things went wrong, too many to really go into but the important part is that we still had a good time and things worked out, well sorta haha. A couple you should know is 1 the one tent we brought which was a 10 person tent was missing the poles to hold up the additional rooms of the tent and 2 we had to switch sites after one night so instead of tearing down the tent the boys through it on top and drove it!

We went cliff jumping on Saturday which was pretty fun! We jumped off the 30 and 10 foot cliffs. There was a 60 foot one but I'm SO glad the boys didn't do that one.

This next one I was trying to take a picture of the beautiful scenery as we were driving home and didn't realize the color highlight was still on.

My nana and papa are here this week so I will be spending a lot of time with them :) Also today is 2 years and 10 months for Zach and I , almost 3 years! I can't believe it. AND I made a fantasy football team tonight, yep don't really have a great idea of what i'm doing but it will be fun I hope!
